With a background in social work, I cannot unsee the injustices of the world and its impacts on each individual I work with. I worked within government and non-profit structures and found loopholes for social justice by co-creating social programs aimed to enact root-level, inter-generational and holistic social change. I am forever beholden to two previous employers, respectively, Cree and Māori led non-profit organizations, who invited me in as an ally to follow their lead and shoulder their people up within a social and political context of resisting ongoing colonization.

My approach is ‘trauma’-informed in a radical way. ‘Trauma’ is a medicalized word that often makes social injustices a personal problem while erasing a more accurate account of what happened: violence, oppression and/or colonization. Inviting stories of resistance to oppression prioritizes people’s own empowerment, dignity and agency. I have studied the neuroscience of how an overwhelmed nervous system (‘trauma’) can have lasting affects on behaviour, emotions, relationships, physical health and psychology. Combining these approaches includes the past while focusing on present and future orientated healing and provides flexibility to hold people up in the ways that they identify help is needed. It’s a “both, and…” approach.

I studied Evolutionary Astrology (as taught by Jeffrey Wolf Green) through Timothy Halloran’s Astrology school. I saw astrological archetypes in real life and traced them back to the birth chart and current transits. I developed the ability to interpret the symbols while also tending to the messy process of human evolution. The science of Evolutionary Astrology is observation and correlation. Cycles in Nature are exquisite teachers and healers. Astrology is nature. Nature reflects our cyclical evolution across lifetimes. Evolutionary astrology pin points personal and collective growing pains and illuminates the healing journey.

Combining Evolutionary Astrology with energy reading and past life reading can be helpful to return a sense of wholeness on a soul level. The symbolic language of nature speaks through all of these mediums, uncovering the unconscious aspects of a soul’s journey for the purpose of integrating soul-level healing. I am humbly honoured to be an interpreter of these symbolic languages and aim to make the spiritual practical by weaving these worlds into the fabric of humanity’s healing.

My Foundational Ethics

These are my ethical intentions from which I center my human services and aim to embody by tending to, making real, receiving critique, and coming back to this foundation.

  1. Structuring safety: I meet you where you are presently at. You are the expert and healer of your life. You have the right to self-determination. My job is to mirror your soul back to you within your wider social/cultural context.

  2. Anti-oppressive, anti-patriarchal and de-colonial: Deconstructing oppression of people due to white supremacy, transphobia, heteronormativity, patriarchy, ability, class, gender, or any other form of discrimination.

  3. Justice-Doing: Continually considering how I am attending to power dynamics in interactions. Witnessing that the personal is political. Participating in social change to social issues.

  4. Curiosity: De-centering myself as the ‘expert’ by asking questions and listening which intentionally place you in the driver’s seat of your life and healing journey.

  5. Revolutionary love: Witnessing the intersectionality of human suffering and enacting revolutionary love by upholding respect, autonomy and dignity of people, thereby co-creating belonging and believed-in hope.

I live on the stolen lands of the Sinixt, the Secwepemc, the Sylix and the Ktunaxa. The land understood as British Columbia, Canada is unceded territory. As a white settler, I am implicated in the ongoing and attempted colonization and genocide of Indigenous peoples. I resist using the word ‘trauma’ to describe the violent and targeted political attacks towards Indigenous peoples. Imperfectly, I aim towards solidarity with Indigenous peoples, upholding their rights to self-determination in their lives, governance of their peoples and guardianship of their territories.
